Immersive Experience
Based on my own experience, this is a story about a group of people who follow water in search of an identity and eventually return to a body of water.
I created an avatar of myself using Metahuman, surrounded by flowing water as a metaphor and a recurring element in the project.
This chapter introduces my mother’s narrative of the farmland in her hometown, with the train symbolizing departure.
As the character walks through the farmland, she encounters a small river (the Yangtze), which serves as a clue guiding her search for identity.
Chapter 2: Seek
The character floats above and below the water, with distinct sounds in each space. Below the surface represents connection, featuring womb-like sounds, while above the water, the audience hears my grandfather’s narrations about his experiences. This chapter aims to immerse the audience in a sense of unease and loss.
Chapter 3: Return
Following the river’s guidance, the character eventually returns, reconnecting with her identity and memories. Through the interplay of water and land, she finds meaning and a sense of belonging.
